"This used to be the place to go back in the days. The food had flavor. I had salmon, greens and potato salad. Everything tastes bland. The sausage on the salmon was trying to percolate but it just didn't have what it takes. The Salmon did taste fresh I will admit. The corn bread was much too soft. The peach cobbler was like the little engine that thought he could. It had crust but it wasn't made in the south. Soul food is a very hard dish to make. You have to feel it to make it come out right. You can't just cook greens and say it's soul food. The greens had no smoked meat to give it that flavor. The man n cheese was loose. It didn't taste like it had cheddar or 3 different cheeses. The potato salad tastes like Samantha Stephens made it. I spent $72 and was disappointed. I took plates home. They didn't enjoy the smothered chicken. I'm scared to try the smothered turkey wings that I purchased. I think that was my last and final visit. The service was great and the had enough people to form a chain"

"My sister orders food from here on Sundays for my father, herself, and I. The food has always been good. Yesterday, I went into the shoppe myself and ordered. I was very impressed with the layout. There were items on the menu I didn't even know about prior . I am really impressed by the fact this is a Black owned establishment. I'm even more impressed by the fact the spot is owned and operated by some members of the Diasporic family. I say this because they know their clientale well and cater to them without flaw. I will continue to nyam (eat) from this establishment for as long as we are both in existence. "

"I love this place! Excellent food, good prices, good service. Absolutely no pretense, they know exactly what they are, and they stick to what they're good at. Ribs are great, fried chicken is great absolutely must get the sweet potatoes. Good lemonade. It is a go-to joint for my son and I. Makes me wish they had a dining room. Strictly take out. I highly recommend it."

"Nice Food and great portions. Update 12/12/23. Food has gone down crazy!! We owners. Rib shack isn't the same. Potato salad was great, now it's just mush and soft like pudding. None of the side has flavor just a lot of peppers and stuff. The meat no season anymore. Go there is you want big portions of food that is bland. You guys use to rock. Go back to the old owners. This owner is just there for the &"

"I love their pork chops, fried chicken and ribs. The potato salad used to be great, but I think they have changed who makes it. Its ok now. Very good turkey wings, but tough everything I order I have to put them in oven or sauteed to tender them. They are well seasoned just need to cook longer. The collard greens are good for a restaurant. Good friendly service. Very clean"
